I grew up on Long Island, New York, but moved to Florida in my senior year of high school (yeah - that was not so much fun but was a lesson in resiliency), where I stayed for about 20 years. I received my Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from Florida State University in 1991. I liked FSU so much that I decided to stay and complete my graduate studies there. My Master of Science degree was completed in 1994 and I earned my PHD in Clinical Psychology in 1998 (Is it obvious yet that I am a die hard Seminole fan?) I will say, however, that I have also grown fond of the Longhorns in the 11 years that I've been here...
I completed my pre-doctoral internship at Eastern Virginia Medical School in Norfolk from 1997-1998; and completed a post-doctoral residency at Florida State Hospital in Chattahoochee from 1998 - 2000. I have been licensed in the state of Florida since May of 2000 (now inactive) and have Texas licensure, as well, since 2011. I was a past member of the Southeastern Psychological Association and the Florida Psychological Association.
After relocating to Texas in 2008, I worked with soldiers in the Army at Ft Hood for 3 years before starting a private practice in Cedar Park, which I still have to this day. Additionally, in 2017 I made the decision to accept a position at the VA, where I currently serve our nation’s veterans.
